MLM Training | Cultivating a winning mindset is a must
First of all, this is not an SEO post. I have no intention of trying to rank this on Google. As I watched ESPN’s football pre-game show this past Sunday, I was moved by a powerful piece on Dennis Byrd. And I want to share that with you today. But understand that this is only relevant for the serious business builders who want to make it big. The ones with a true entrepreneurial winning spirit. Those who understand that making it in this business is more than just getting your hands on the latest “me too” super tool.
You see, this is about the intangibles that you can’t learn through internet MLM training. Because this is about cultivating and developing the most important personal attribute you must master in order to succeed. What I’m talking about is the power of a winning business mindset.
This past Sunday, ESPN aired a piece where Tom Jackson interviewed Dennis Byrd, a former NY Jets linebacker who suffered a devastating neck injury during an NFL game against the Kansas City Chiefs on November 29, 1992. Byrd was instantly paralyzed from the waist down. But through incredible determination, focus, faith and a hell of a lot of physical therapy, Byrd literally learned how to walk again a mere three months later.
Before the Jets played the New England Patriots on January 16, 2011 for a chance to represent the AFC in the championship title game, the New York Jets’ coach, Rex Ryan, asked Dennis Byrd to address the team. Byrd had a simple message for the team. And by the way, for those who don’t follow Jets football, the Patriots are the ultimate enemy. This is the team they haven’t been able to beat in a very long time. But on this day, Byrd’s message was inspirational and powerful. To paraphrase, it went something like this:
Man has a mind, a body, and a soul, which is your spiritual self. Your will. Two of those don’t really matter. Only the spirit does. Because in the end, when you command your will and your spirit, the mind and body will always follow.
Dennis Byrd then handed his 1992 #90 Jersey which was cut open and removed from his body after the horrible injury on the field. The Jets carried that jersey on the field when they were introduced prior to kick-off against the the New England Patriots on that frigid Sunday afternoon.
Final score: Jets 28, Patriots 21.
My message here is simple, folks. You are going to have to work hard. You are going to have to learn things you don’t know or understand if you’re going to succeed in your business. You are going to have to fortify your mind. Edify your mental attitude. Fight the draining force of doubt, skepticism, procrastination, and distractions.
At the end of the day, unless you have faith in you, your business, and your vision, you have already lost. Because for most of you, that means a long, turbulent journey that will drive the majority to failure. And the sad thing is that many of those folks will probably quit just as they are about to break through the surface.
So do yourself a favor. If you’re not willing to commit to your business for at least 6-12 months and give it a genuine effort, don’t bother. If you can’t afford $100 to invest in your business every month, then you probably have bigger issues to take care of at this time. If you can’t see yourself learning how to write, speak or present information to others, then you don’t quite have the right mentality to pave a personal road to success. That said, the believer, the warrior, the take-no-prisoners individual will never let money become an obstacle. Lack of time will never be an issue. And motivation and faith will never be in short supply.
Remember, there can never be a quick and direct path to prosperity unless you intimately believe in yourself first. Master your mind, your feelings and emotions and you’ll master the art of stepping into your own greatness. Do that, and everything else you want in life will follow.
